- You can also manually set your location from Profile → Edit Profile → Location.
- Adjust your Discovery Radius to control how far away activities appear (e.g., 5 mi, 10 mi, 25 mi).
- Pro subscribers can extend their discovery radius beyond the default limit.
Tap the Activities tab at the bottom of the app. You'll see a feed of upcoming activities near you, sorted by date. Scroll through to see what's available, or use the filters at the top to narrow results.
- On the Activities screen, tap the filter icon at the top.

When creating or editing an activity, the location step shows an interactive map. Search for an address or drag the pin to set the exact meeting point. Participants will see this location in the activity details and can get directions from their device's map app.
During activity creation, you can optionally set a language preference to indicate the primary language spoken during the activity. This helps users find activities in their preferred language and shows as a tag on the activity card.
- When creating an activity, toggle the Recurring option.
- Choose a frequency: Weekly, Biweekly, or Monthly.
- The app will automatically create future occurrences on the same day and time.
- Each occurrence can be managed individually (edit or cancel a single occurrence without affecting others).
Go to Profile → Hosted Activities and tap the activity you want to modify. Use Edit to update details (date, time, location, etc.) or Cancel Activity to cancel it entirely. All participants will be notified of any changes via push notification.
If you cancelled an activity by mistake, go to Profile → Hosted Activities → Cancelled, tap the activity, and select Relist Activity. The activity will be restored and visible to users again. Previous participants will be notified.
Open your hosted activity, tap the three-dot menu, and select Transfer Host. You'll see a list of participants — tap the person you want to transfer to. The new host takes over the activity and you're removed as host. This cannot be undone.
After an activity is completed, you'll receive a notification to rate the host or participants. You can also rate from the completed activity detail by tapping the three-dot menu. Ratings are anonymous and help the community identify reliable activity partners.
After an activity is completed, tap on it from your profile's completed activities section and select Generate Recap Card. You can add a photo from your library, then save the card to your device or share it directly. The card is sized for Instagram Stories (9:16 ratio).
When creating an activity for certain sports like tennis or pickleball, you can mark it as having an activity fee. This lets participants know there may be a cost (such as court fees) before they join. The fee is arranged between the host and participants outside the app.
When creating an activity, you can optionally set a gender preference (Men, Women, or Any). This shows on the activity card so participants know the host's preference. It does not restrict who can join.
Open a cancelled activity from your profile, tap the three-dot menu, and select Re-list Activity. Pick a new date and time — all other details stay the same. This creates a fresh activity without having to fill everything out again.
When viewing an activity detail, you may see weather, road condition, or avalanche forecast buttons depending on the activity's sport and location. These pull real-time data to help you decide if conditions are safe. Avalanche data comes from the Colorado Avalanche Information Center (CAIC).
The Discover screen shows profiles of other users nearby who share your sports and interests. Swipe through cards to find potential activity partners. The app prioritizes users who match your sport preferences and skill level. Organizer cards are also shown to help you find upcoming events.
From a user's profile or their Discover card, tap Connect. They'll receive a notification and can accept or decline. Once connected, you can message each other directly and see each other's activities more prominently.
Go to a user's profile and tap Message, or open the Messages tab and tap the compose icon. You can message anyone you're connected with. Activity group chats are automatically created when you join an activity.
On a user's Discover card, tap the 'Hide from Discover' button below the Connect button. They won't appear in your Discover feed again but can still be found via search. To unhide users, go to Profile → Settings → Privacy → Hidden from Discover. This action is silent — the other user won't be notified.
Tap on a user's name or photo anywhere in the app (activity cards, participant lists, Discover, messages) to open their full profile. You'll see their bio, sports, skill levels, reliability score, hosted activities, and mutual connections.
The leaderboard on the Discover tab ranks users by activities joined, activities hosted, and followers. You can filter by scope: Global, Country, State, or City. The top three users get gold, silver, and bronze medals next to their name.
Pro subscribers can access the Map tab to see a full interactive map of activities and events near them. Pinch to zoom, pan to explore, and tap any pin to see details. You can filter map pins by sport or type using the filter bar at the top.
The map uses different pin styles to distinguish between types:
- Activity pins — show upcoming activities you can join.
- Event pins — show organized events from event organizers.
Tap any pin to see a preview card with quick details and a join/view button. To find people to do activities with, head to the Discover tab.
Tap an activity pin on the map to open its preview card. From there, tap View Details to see the full activity page, or tap Join directly from the card if spots are available.
On the map screen, tap the filter icon to open the filter sheet. You can toggle visibility of activities and events separately. You can also filter by specific sports to only see pins relevant to your interests.
- Go to the Groups section in the app.
- Tap Create Group.
- Enter a group name, description, and choose a sport or topic.
- Select whether the group is Public or Private.
- Invite members or share the group link.
Browse available groups from the Groups section or tap a group link shared by another user. For public groups, tap Join to become a member immediately. For private groups, you'll need to request access and wait for the group admin to approve.
- Public groups are visible to everyone and anyone can join instantly.
- Private groups are hidden from search. Users need an invite link or must request access. Only approved members can see group content and activities.
Group members can create activities exclusively for the group. These activities only appear to group members. Each group has a built-in group chat for coordination, announcements, and general discussion. Admins can manage roles and moderate the chat.
Open your group, tap the plus button, and select Create Poll. Add your question and 2 to 6 answer options, with an optional end date. Group members can vote and results are visible to everyone in the group.
Groups have three roles: Owner (the creator), Moderator (appointed by the owner), and Veteran (earned through active participation). Each role has a badge that appears next to the member's name in the group.
Go to Profile → Edit Profile. From here you can update your name, bio, sports, skill levels, location, and other preferences. Changes are saved immediately when you tap Save.
In Edit Profile, tap your profile photo or the camera icon to upload a new picture. You can take a new photo or choose one from your gallery. You can also add additional photos to your profile gallery for others to see.
Go to Profile → Edit Profile and toggle Private Account on. When private, only your connections can see your full profile, activity history, and stats. Your name and photo are still visible in activities you join.
Visit the user's profile and tap the three-dot menu (…) in the top right. Select Block User. Blocked users cannot see your profile, message you, or see your activities. To unblock, go to Settings → Blocked Users and tap Unblock next to their name.
To delete your TerenGO account:
- Open the app and go to Profile → Settings (gear icon).
- Scroll to the bottom and tap Delete Account.
- Review the information about what will be deleted.
- Type DELETE to confirm.
- Tap Permanently Delete My Account.
What happens after deletion:
- Your account is immediately deactivated and you will be signed out.
- Any upcoming activities or events you hosted will be cancelled and participants will be notified.
- You have a 30-day grace period to change your mind. Contact support@terengo.com within 30 days to restore your account.
- After 30 days, all your data is permanently deleted, including: your profile, activities, messages, connections, ratings, badges, photos, and all associated content.
A confirmation email will be sent to your registered email address with the scheduled deletion date.
Go to Profile → Settings → Notifications. You can toggle individual notification types on or off, including activity reminders, messages, connection requests, and promotional notifications. Make sure notifications are enabled in your device's system settings as well.
When you arrive at an activity, you can check in to let your emergency contact know you've arrived safely. After the activity, check out to confirm you're safe. If you don't check out within the expected time, your emergency contact will be notified automatically.
During onboarding, you'll be asked to set an emergency contact email. You can also update it from Profile → Edit Profile. Enter the email address of a trusted person. This contact will receive an email when you use the safety check-in feature, and will be notified if you check in to an activity but don't check out.
Go to Profile, tap Edit, and scroll to the Emergency Contact section. You can set a contact name, phone number, email, and relationship. This contact receives notifications when you use the safety check-in feature during activities.
Go to Profile, tap Edit, and enter your Strava username in the Strava field. A Strava icon will appear on your profile that other users can tap to view your Strava profile. This is display-only and does not sync activity data.
Go to Profile, tap Edit, and scroll to the radius settings. You can set your activity discovery radius (how far away activities appear), notification radius (how far away you receive push notifications for new activities), and new activity notification radius separately. Setting these to "My State" shows everything in your state.
Tap on a user's profile or card and select Block from the menu. Blocked users can't see your profile, activities, or message you. You can unblock them anytime from the same menu. Blocking is private — the other user is not notified.
Report a user: Tap on their profile or card, select the three-dot menu, and choose "Report." Select a reason and add any details. Reports are reviewed by our team.
Report a message: Long-press on any message you received in a chat and select "Report." Choose a reason such as spam, harassment, inappropriate content, or child safety concern.
All reports are stored securely and our team is notified immediately. If you believe someone is in immediate danger, please contact local law enforcement. You can also review our Child Safety Policy for more information.
You earn milestone badges by completing activities. The milestones are: Starter (5), Active (20), Dedicated (50), Centurion (100), Veteran (200), Legend (300), and Elite (500). Badges appear on your profile and you'll see confetti when you earn a new one.
Your reliability score reflects whether you show up to activities you join. It's based on your completion rate — if you frequently cancel or no-show, your score drops. Other users can see your reliability badge on your profile and activity cards. New users start with a "New" badge until they complete their first activity.
Go to your Profile, tap the settings gear, and select Send Feedback. Choose a sentiment, write an optional message, and submit. Your feedback is sent directly to the TerenGO team. You can also email us at hello@terengo.com.
When you join an event by tapping "Going," you'll be asked to sign a waiver before your RSVP is confirmed. The waiver covers assumption of risk and release of liability for the event's activity. You'll need to:
- Read the waiver text
- Check four acknowledgment boxes
- Type your full name as an electronic signature
- Provide an emergency contact name and phone number
Some events may require multiple waivers (for example, a general waiver plus a climbing or skiing addendum). Your name and emergency contact carry over between waivers so you only enter them once.
Waivers are signed per event. If you join a different event, even for the same sport, you'll sign a new waiver. If you leave an event and rejoin the same one, you won't need to sign again.
The event organizer can view your signed waiver and export it as a PDF. Your signed waiver, electronic signature, and emergency contact information are stored permanently and shared with the event organizer.
The Leaderboard shows the most active users in your area. Rankings are based on your activity participation and hosting. You can view leaderboards for different sports and time periods. The leaderboard also has a Following tab so you can see how you stack up against your connections.
- Most Joined — ranks users by how many activities they've participated in as an attendee.
- Most Hosted — ranks users by how many activities they've created and hosted.
Both metrics reflect all-time completed activities. The leaderboard also shows a total count of activities completed across the entire TerenGO community.
TerenGO Pro gives you access to premium features:
- Interactive Map — see activities and events on a full map view.
- Extended Discovery Radius — find activities and users further away.
- Unlimited Activity Hosting — create as many activities as you want (free users have a monthly limit).
Go to Profile → Pro to view plans and subscribe. Subscriptions are managed through the App Store (iOS) or Google Play (Android). To cancel, manage your subscription through your device's subscription settings. Your Pro features remain active until the end of your billing period.
Quick answers to common questions.
TerenGO surfaces activities and users based on your sport preferences, skill level, and location. Activities that match your sports and are within your selected distance range appear first. You can also use filters in Discover to narrow results by sport, skill level, date, and language.
The Reliability Score reflects how consistently you show up to activities you've joined. It's calculated based on your attendance history. A high score signals to other users that you're dependable. It appears on your profile and activity cards.
Yes. Go to Profile → Hosted Activities, tap the activity, and select Cancel Activity. All participants will be notified via push notification. Cancelled activities appear in your profile history and can be relisted if cancelled by mistake.
You'll receive a push notification immediately when the host cancels. The activity will appear under "Cancelled" in your Activities tab. You can dismiss it from your list once you've seen it.
Visit the user's profile and tap the three-dot menu in the top right. Choose Block (they won't see your profile or message you) or Report to flag them for our team to review. We take all reports seriously and respond promptly.
Your exact location is never shared. TerenGO only shows your general area (city or neighborhood level) on your profile. Activity locations are set by the host as the meeting point, not your personal address.
When your account is private, only your connections can see your full profile, photos, sports, and activity history. Others will see limited information (name, location, and a lock icon). You can still be found via search on the Discover screen, but your details are hidden until someone connects with you. Your activities are also hidden from non-connections.
When you create a recurring activity, TerenGO automatically generates future occurrences at your chosen frequency (weekly, biweekly, or monthly). Each occurrence is independent — you can edit or cancel a single one without affecting the rest. Participants need to join each occurrence individually.
TerenGO is currently available in the United States only, including Alaska, Hawaii, Puerto Rico, and US territories. Activities and events can only be created within US locations. We plan to expand to other countries in the future.

During event creation (or when editing), tap the banner image area at the top. Upload an image from your gallery or take a new photo. Recommended size is 1200x630 pixels. The banner appears at the top of your event page and in preview cards across the app.
In the event creation flow, scroll to the Route section and tap Upload GPX. Select a .gpx file from your device. The route will be displayed on the interactive map in the event details so attendees can preview the course. You can replace or remove the GPX file at any time by editing the event.

- To add a promo code, go to the Promo Codes section and enter the code, discount type, and expiration date.
- Partner logos appear on the event page and promo codes can be shared with your audience.
- Public — visible to everyone on the app and map.
- Followers Only — only users who follow your organizer profile can see the event.
- Private — only users you explicitly invite can see and join the event.
Set visibility during event creation or change it later from the event settings.
When your event is set to Private, go to the event page and tap Invite. You'll see a list of your followers. Select the users you want to invite, and they'll receive a push notification with a link to RSVP. You can also share a private invite link directly.
From your organizer dashboard, tap the event you want to manage:
- Edit — update any event details (title, date, location, price, etc.). Attendees are notified of significant changes.
- Pause — temporarily hide the event from discovery. Existing attendees keep their spots.
- Cancel — cancel the event entirely. All attendees receive a cancellation notification.
Open the event you want to duplicate and tap the three-dot menu (…) → Duplicate Event. A new draft is created with all the same details. Update the date, time, and any other fields, then publish the new event. This is useful for running similar events on different dates.
- During event creation, toggle Recurring Event.
- Choose a frequency: Weekly, Biweekly, or Monthly.
- Set an end date or number of occurrences.
- Each occurrence is created automatically and can be managed individually.
- Attendees can RSVP to specific dates rather than the entire series.
In the event editor, go to Notifications → Reminders. You can set custom reminder times (e.g., 1 day before, 2 hours before, 30 minutes before). Attendees will receive push notifications at these times. Default reminders are sent 24 hours and 1 hour before the event.
Your published events automatically appear as pins on the TerenGO map for users in your area. Users browsing the map can tap your event pin to see a preview and RSVP. Ensure your event location is accurate and your banner image is eye-catching for maximum visibility.
- From your organizer dashboard, go to Promote → Target Area.
- Draw a circle on the map to define your target area, or set a radius around your event location.
- Optionally filter by sport preferences to reach the most relevant users.
- Compose your notification message (keep it short and compelling).
- Preview the estimated reach and tap Send Notification.
- Users within the target area who match your filters will receive the push notification.
To protect the user experience, organizers can send one targeted push notification per 7-day period. Plan your notifications strategically for maximum impact. This limit does not apply to automatic event reminders or messages to your own attendees.
Open your event and tap Announce. Write your message and all attendees will receive a push notification and see the announcement in the event chat. Use this for last-minute updates, parking info, weather alerts, or schedule changes.
Open your event and tap Attendees. You'll see a full list of everyone who has RSVP'd, including their name, profile photo, and the date they signed up. You can tap any attendee to view their profile.
From the attendee list, tap the export icon or three-dot menu → Export CSV. A CSV file will be generated with attendee names and registration dates. The file is saved to your device or can be shared via email or messaging apps.
From the attendee list, tap the three-dot menu next to an attendee's name and select Export Waiver. A PDF will be generated with the waiver text, the attendee's electronic signature, emergency contact information, and the date they signed. You can share the PDF via email or save it to your device.
To export all signed waivers at once, tap the Export All Waivers button at the top of the attendee list. This generates a single PDF with each attendee's waiver on a separate page.
If an event required multiple waivers (for example, a general waiver plus a climbing addendum), all signed waivers for that attendee are included in the export.
In the attendee list, swipe left on the attendee's name (or tap the three-dot menu next to their name) and select Remove. The attendee will be notified that they've been removed from the event. Their spot opens up for other users.
Open your event's attendee list, tap the three-dot menu next to the attendee's name, and select Remove from Event. The attendee will be notified and their spot opens up for other users.
You can message attendees in two ways: use the event chat (visible to all attendees) for group announcements, or tap an individual attendee and select Message for a private conversation. Event chats are automatically created when the first attendee joins.
Your dashboard shows total views, RSVPs, and saves across all your events, plus monthly trend charts. Tap any stat card to drill down into individual event performance. You can search events by name, sport, or location within each drill-down.
Your organizer dashboard shows key metrics for each event:
- Views — how many users have seen your event page.
- Going — how many users have RSVP'd to attend.
- Saves — how many users have bookmarked your event for later.
These stats help you understand your event's reach and engagement.
The Analytics section of your dashboard shows monthly trends for views, RSVPs, and saves over time. Use these charts to understand which events perform best and when your audience is most active. Compare month-over-month to track growth.
The Audience Insights panel shows you who your attendees are:
- Sports breakdown — which sports your audience is interested in.
- Skill levels — distribution of casual, intermediate, advanced, and expert athletes.
- Distance — how far attendees travel to reach your events.
Use these insights to tailor your events to your audience.
After an event ends, attendees can rate their experience. Ratings appear on your organizer profile and individual event pages. High ratings improve your visibility in Discover and build trust with potential attendees. You can view individual ratings and feedback from your dashboard.
After your event, attendees can rate it on accuracy, organization, atmosphere, communication, and whether they'd attend again. Your ratings become visible on your organizer profile once you receive at least 3 reviews. Individual ratings are anonymous.
As an organizer, you can send and receive direct messages from attendees, followers, and other users. Access your messages from the Messages tab. Direct messages are private between you and the other user.
Each event has an automatic group chat where all attendees and the organizer can communicate. Use it for logistics, updates, and community building. As the organizer, you can pin important messages and moderate the conversation.
Quick answers for event organizers.
The Organizer Pro subscription pricing is available in the app under Profile → Subscription. Plans are billed monthly or annually (with a discount for annual billing). Visit the app for current pricing details.
Organizers can send one targeted push notification per 7-day period. This rate limit protects the user experience. Automatic event reminders and messages to your own event's attendees do not count toward this limit.
You can see the total number of views on your event dashboard, but individual viewer identities are not disclosed to protect user privacy. You can see who has RSVP'd or saved your event.
After an event ends, attendees are prompted to rate their experience on a star scale and leave optional written feedback. Your average rating is displayed on your organizer profile. Consistently high ratings improve your visibility in search results and Discover.
Yes. There's no limit on overlapping events. You can run multiple events simultaneously at different locations. Each event has its own attendee list, chat, and analytics independently.
Once the event date has passed, the event is automatically moved to your Past Events section. Attendees can still leave ratings and the event page remains viewable for reference. Past event data contributes to your overall analytics and organizer profile.
When you set an event as recurring, future occurrences are created automatically at your chosen frequency. Each occurrence has its own attendee list and can be managed independently. You can edit or cancel individual occurrences, or update the entire series at once from the series settings.
